Prototype Machining

Summit Machine, LTD offers prototype machining as a service to all our customers to quickly get sample parts for product development and testing. Whereas many machine shops are reluctant to do prototype machining, we welcome the opportunity to produce your prototype machined parts. In addition to offering fast turnaround, we can also offer a much lower cost due to our low overhead and experienced machinists.

Examples of our CNC Machining Services, Turning and Secondary Operations

In one quick operation, this 3” OD aluminum part is drilled, turned, back chamfered, and cut off while holding tight tolerances on a bar-fed lathe.

This multi-step product made from aluminum has 2 turning operations and 2 milling operations before it is coated with black anodize. This handle showcases an ability to make products used by the consumer.

This part showcases an ability to machine, assemble, and deliver ontime a complex part. The components are made from 4140 hardened steel. The 11 operations used to complete this part include turning, milling, plating, assembly, and painting. This is a throttle handle on a locomotive.

This multi-step part is made from mild steel. It uses 3 milling and 1 turning operation. This part showcases how to successfully cross drill threaded holes and intersect with threads without creating burrs.

This stainless steel part made for the packaging industry. After 1 turning operation, this part is milled using a 4th axis to form angled surfaces. After being induction hardened, this part is turned and polished for a bright finish.
